30 days project booklet

Example of 30 Days Project
Just to inform that I have just finished my 50th doodles of my daily project and to celebrate this, I self-published my first 30 doodles. The booklet was all made by myself from doodle to printing and from paper cuting to binding, all home-made and one man project.

The booklet is to be sold and all the proceeds are for helping the needy people by donating all the sales to Alliance of Macao Friends of Philanthropy.

Please email me if you want to get a copy.

Thank you.

Yeah! Yeah! I have committed for this endurance daily doodle for 30 days! During all these days, I felt  a lot of fun. Even thought sometimes need to rush to draw something before midnight because my drawing time is between 10pm to midnight, but it was worth to do this kind of self initiated project.
I will continue to do for the next 30 days, but I will only start from JULY 1st, so it is easier for me to mark the day number and the date, because I have experienced some days and dates confusion. But this doesn't mean that I will take some days off, I will try not to break this project and the next few days until 1st JULY, I will give the title DAY OFF #1 and so on.
To see them all, please visit to my other blog Americo Daily Doodle.

Killing Time

Spent 9 days to finish it up when suddenly want to draw something. Everyday add up bits and pieces for about few seconds to a minute. After 9 days, it comes out like this. I don't know if I should stop or continue adding, but because feel tired of it, better leave it the way it is.

UCA Alumni Magazine Issue 3

It is my honoured to be featured at the Alumni Magazine of UCA. I didn't studied at UCA, because I graduated before the establisment of the current school. But this doesn't matter, because the root of UCA is still from Kent Institute of Art and Design.

Please take a look at my article and if you have a spare time, please also read the articles from other successful stories.

Daily project for 30 days

Paper: Matte white around 110gsm
Size: A7 (74mm × 105mm)
Pen: Black POSCA PC-1M (0.7mm)

Daily drawing is not a trend and for this reason, I also wanted to try something to challenge myself and to see how endure I am.

To start, I have set myself to draw everyday for a month since 29-05-2010 and see how the 30 doodles will look like. Really looking foward to see them all spread on the table!

2010 Macao Annual Art Exhibition.

4 submitted canvas

Together with other artists

Example of one of my favourite sculpture. It has two faces in front and back.

Another interesting sculpture showing the motor driving scene of Macao.

2010 Macao Annual Art Exhibition is an important programme as part of the Macao Arts Festival. I tried so submit something every year to participate in this event.

In 2007, my artwork TYPE-FACE-RECIPE was awarded as 10 best entries of the exhibition.

Then in the next coming years 2008 and 2009, I also submit some of my artworks, but none were selected nor even for the exhibition, this proves that the judge are very tough for the quality of the works.

This year 2010, I tried once more by submitting 4 canvas of my previous solo exhibition UNKNOW - A Miracle Vision, and finally I was selected for the exhibition and be part of this important yearly arts events.

Toe Fluff submission

This is my friendly design submission for Toe Fluff designed by Steve Rack from UK.

Steve Rack is a character artist and the creator of the site ilikecharacters.com that is a place to collect interesting character art around the world.

He is going to organize an exhibition based on the character Toe Fluff and the invited or selected artist/designer will take part on the show. Hope my design will be there too.

Since this is a show for helping people, I decided to give him a hand by designing one Toe Fluff for the event and the profits will be donated to The Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

Till now, its around 80 submissions, which means there's more than 80 different Toe Fluff to feed your eyes. Human creativity is really amazing, just using one character as base can produce so many different ones with different styles!

Keep it working Steve!!!

Tattorior in VEKTORIKA

Didn't realize that I was selected in the 12th issue of VEKTORIKA magazine in 2009, page 56.

This issue is all about vectorized graphics, illustrations, photographs or anykind of visual art all in black & white.

Since I have designed one in black and white before, I made a try to submit one illustration called TATTORIOR.

Posca Pen experimentation #1

Posca Pen is a well known artist's pen and without a try, I will not know how good it is.

Now I understand why so many artists choose and use this pen, because it is not only water based, the colours are very sharp and solid too.

I bought it from my last trip in Japan and cannot remember how much I bought it, but I am sure it is cheaper than on the net or from other country.

This is my little experimention to test the quality of the orange colour and I was amaze with its opacity. It can write at almost any kind of surface, but of course, not at all material. For example, in plastic as shown in the picture, the colour will come out easily if I scratch a bit with my nail.

The Squares Family

The Squares

The Squares is my newly developed series of character design based with squares. For this self-initiated project, I wanted to challenge my creativity within some limits. How far I can go within a shape limitation by using similar squared facial expressions and at the same time showing some differences.

I imagined this series as a big family (even design the coat of arms of the The Squares family) and all of the family members have their occupation or different identities.

I had quite a lot of fun on this project and please enjoy.
